You heard me sigh,
replaced it with your smile.
This lonely heart,
you gave a name.
This empty shell
is now a shining pearl
and all because you
felt that I was worth your love,
you're here with me.

This poet lost
somewhere in time.
Soon found these words
prepared to rhyme.
A running brook,
a cosy fireside,
and all because you
felt that I was worth your love,
you're here with me.

There is no world of 'make believe'
where you belong.
No wishing well of empty dreams.
But the light of expectation's
where I'm coming from,
you left your word,
your promise healed.
