HELL OR HEAVEN? YOUR CHOICE

INTRODUCTION:

Although occasionally repeated, excerpts by subject are extracted from Jesus’ teachings. To confirm for appropriate application, please study whole verses in their chapter context. Many complete verses from Jesus’ teachings are repeated in comments following those subjects. King James version Bible verses are in bold font. CAPS and Italics are for emphasis including paraphrases and interpretations.



Have you heard some say that hell does not exist? Have you heard someone declare that a loving God would never “send” anyone to hell? Have you heard that your eternal abode will NOT be decided until the Revelation 20 White throne final judgment? Have you heard that it is wrong to scare people from hell?

All of those declarations result in teachers avoiding the subject for fear of offending someone.

When a lost-going-to-hell-Jesus-rejecter like Jesus clearly defined in John 3:18 dies physically, their spirit steps immediately into the inferno of hell where they are tormented 24/7 as they repeatedly remember in minute detail every discourse on God’s love gift of salvation which they chose to reject. The eternally lost human beings who choose to condemn themselves will earnestly pray from their “place of torment” that their loved ones will choose heaven. In Luke 16, Jesus taught that a man in hell prayed, 27 “Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father (Abraham), that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: 28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.”

Every person must choose heaven or CONDEMN HIMSELF to hell by rejecting Jesus’ love gift of salvation.

Jesus taught: Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire (hell), prepared for the devil and his angels: Matthew 25:41b God prepared hell for the devil . God prepared heaven for all who trust/believe in Jesus and accept His love gift of salvation. “In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” John 14:2


Jesus clearly defined HOW to choose heaven or hell: “He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:18 Trust (believe) Jesus and go to heaven. Reject Jesus and go to hell. Your CHOICE.

Definition from a Greek dictionary: “Hell is the place of punishment called the "Gehenna of fire" which was originally the valley of Hinnom, south of Jerusalem, where the filth and dead animals of the city were cast out and burned.” Jesus’ “Gehenna” illustration was clear to His hearers who knew all about the valley of Hinnom where refuse was burned therefore they clearly understood what hell is like.

Why is it compulsory that we tell people about hell since it is an unpleasant subject that people don’t want to hear about? God offers His love gift of salvation through Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection and is eager to give it to every one who chooses to accept it. Although just, a Holy God can’t permit even one sin to enter heaven. God also provides a place of eternal punishment to the lost-going-to-hell-Jesus-rejecters who CHOOSE to go there. That motivates God’s-children since, “Knowing therefore the TERROR of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences. 2 Cor 5:11 Every sermon, teaching, song and testimony by children-of-God is for one purpose only, that is, to assist the Jesus-rejecters to understand their eternal destiny and how to CHOOSE to NOT to go to hell.

There are only two kinds of sinners: SAVED sinners who are truly-born-again-children-of-God as clerly defined by Jesus in John 3 and LOST sinners, every person who has CHOOSEN to reject Jesus’ love gift of salvation.

If you ARE NOW a truly-born-again-child-of-God, you first began to understand Jesus’ clear definition of a lost-going-to-hell-Jesus-rejecter in John 3:18 “He that believeth on Him is NOT condemned.” During those awful days that you were under conviction by God’s Holy Spirit and as you continually rejected His love gift of salvation, did not that conviction accentuate your dread of going to hell?

Only YOU can choose to go hell. God does NOT want you there. Instead, “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 Jesus died for YOU.


This article is all about what Jesus taught about hell and how to avoid it. Out of His unparalleled love, His warnings about hell outnumber His discussions of heaven. Many children-of-God are comfortable telling the world about heaven but how long has it been since you have warned a lost-going-to-hell-Jesus-rejecter about hell, their CHOSEN destination?

Knowing that some will accept Jesus’ love gift of salvation and others will choose to reject His love gift, by inspiration by God, Jude instructed truly-born-again-children-of-God: “And of some have compassion, making a difference: 23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.” Show mercy to those who doubt. Pull others out of the fires of hell. To others, show mercy mixed with fear. Love every individual but hate even the clothes that are stained by the sins of those who wear them.

When a sign reads "DETOUR! THE BRIDGE IS OUT,” Some will ignore it and say, "Someone is just trying to scare us. This road is easier. Let’s keep on it." They plunge to their death. Just like that sign alerts drivers of impending disaster, God’s Word warns everyone about hell. To choose to ignore either warning results in disaster.

No one can be scared into heaven, but many are scared away from hell. When I finally understood about my destiny, I promptly turned to Jesus begging for and immediately receiving His grace and mercy in the form of His love gift of salvation from hell. I prayed, “..God be merciful to me a sinner..” Jesus confirmed that the man who prayed that prayer, “..went down to his house justified… Luke 18:13b-14a I got saved!!!

In that simple prayer, the man admitted that he was a lost sinner, the first and critical step toward salvation. They, he recognized that God is merciful. He chose to ask for Jesus’ love gift of salvation. Jesus testified that he was saved “justified.”

If you have not trusted Jesus to receive His love gift of salvation, you are a lost-going-to-hell-Jesus-rejecter like Jesus clearly defined in John 3:18. You are only one breath away from eternity in hell. Visualize this, every time you meet another auto at 50mph, you are six feet from hell. It is much better to be terrified about hell now than to be surprised when you die and agonize in hell eternally.

My prayer is that you will believe/trust Jesus so we can fellowship in heaven, in the presence of God the Father, Jesus the Son, and God’s Holy Spirit plus all those who have gone on before who will celebrate when you get saved. Jesus said “I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just (self righteous) persons, which (who think they) need no repentance.” Luke 15:7
