Devotionals
If you’ve ever known someone who’s been a part of the club scene, then you might appreciate the fact that getting into one of these exclusive nightclubs isn’t easy for the average person. You not only have to be one of the beautiful people, but must wear the swankiest clothing and maybe even be a part of the so called “in crowd.” It seems that a lot of folks just want to be acknowledged for running with those who set the trends and get the most attention. This access, which is usually based on superficial outward perfection, isn’t anything new. The elites have been separating themselves from everyone else since the beginning of time in order to make themselves feel important.
Even in God’s tabernacle, access was only given to the priest through the first curtain where the lamp stand, the table, and the showbread resided; but not through the second curtain entering the holy of holies where the Ark of the Covenant containing the Ten Commandments of the law stood. It’s true the high priest once a year was allowed to enter the holy of holies to offer sacrifices for the sin of the people, but Hebrews chapter nine verse nine explains that it was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered that can’t make a priest who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscious. Christ, however, came as High Priest of the good things to come with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made by the hand of man.
Aren’t you glad Christ died so you wouldn’t be denied access to the presence of Almighty God because of your sin? The more time you take advantage of spending time to pray and worship the Lord during your day and dwell in His presence, the more like Him you’ll eventually become - holy and without blemish, one who is justified to enter God’s presence because of Christ’s holiness in you. Don’t let anyone tell you that change can’t come to your life for the better. Jesus paid a high price so you could be conformed to the image of God in Christ’s perfect likeness.
