Can You Hear?


Can you hear the tinkling of broken hearts shattering?
Sounds of desperation and sadness make scatterings,
Disappointment and pain crashing into each other,
Deep in the soul, bringing sorrow and troubles.

Can you hear the cries of an unwanted child,
Begging for love and left out in the wild?
Anguish and fears overtake them tonight,
Sobbing their fears, and no one’s in sight.

Can you hear the loneliness of the man on the street?
Ashamed of himself with nothing to eat,
Crying and asking, “What happened Dear Lord?”
To make me so lost and alone in the world?

Can you hear the loneliness of an elderly one,
Forgotten, forsaken and left all alone?
Just faded memories of their days gone by,
Left all alone and can’t reason why.

Can you hear the voice of Jesus as he pleads?
Do you listen when he says someone’s in need?
Souls are dying and their spirits are tattering.
Can you hear the tinkling of broken hearts shattering?
