To Know Me


Know thyself
Oh man of the world search within
But with whom shall we share the loss
To whom shall we bear the cost?
And if Wisdom could be gained
What then would you contain?
Who then could you be?
From what would you truly flee?
If the acquaintance of self was self-induced
Empty would your cup still be
Aimlessly should your eyes remain to see

Identity awaits you
For true character knows no fool
True life has but one rule
Alas, so the choice is yours
Remaining the only item of precedence that is
The one thing asked of you before all else is given
So how shall we make light of abundance in a simple spoken word?
Where trust is born
And belief is not weary
Wherein resides this answer that has till now escaped me?
Where faith befalls identity
When the sound of His name is the renewing of your mind
The transcendence of self beyond all understanding
Where you recognize your face for the first time
A reflection seen only through His freely given Spirit
That finally guides you to
Know thyself
