But when [even] the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, judicially argued (disputed) about the body of Moses, he dared not [presume to] bring an abusive condemnation against him, but [simply] said, “The Lord rebuke you!” Jude 1:9 AMP
When I stumbled across Jude 1:9, I realized that God was speaking so profoundly to me, and it was imparted deep into my heart never to argue or tell Satan off again. I learned that I could stand confident in the word of God as it is written. This scripture brought a new revelation to my eyes!
In my experience during my trials battling Satan, I unknowingly shouted harsh things to him. I argued with the enemy. I tried to stake my claim and wanted him to know it. The truth is I was wavering in my faith and was not confident in the promises of God. I was telling Satan off, because I was trying to convince myself that he had no power over me. In arguing with the enemy, I was trying to prove I was right and he was wrong. I did not understand that I did not have anything to prove to him. My promises and inheritance in Jesus Christ are already recorded in the bible. I did not know how to simply receive them and stand confident in believing them. When I started becoming confident in the word of God, I realized I did not have to argue with the enemy. God’s promises are Yes and Amen.
The word judicial from the Webster’s Classic Reference Library is defined as Pertaining to the administering of justice, to courts of law, or to judges; enforced or decreed by a court of law. Michael, the archangel knew what the verdict already was, and he also knew what spiritual laws had been decreed. Instead of bringing abusive, condescending words upon Satan, he simply stated what was already declared in the heavens. “The Lord rebuke you!”
