What helps us grow on a personal level? People we love and care about. An environment where we experience love, comfort, security and support. We find this with friends, family and fellow children of God. It is such an important part of our lives. There are so many people that God sends over our paths throughout our lives to help with this process.

But, what happens if God asks us to leave that safe and comfortable environment and move on to the next growing phase that He has planned for us? Not just personal growth but also spiritual growth?

We are not supposed to forget about all the people and experiences that helped us develop or cut them out of our lives completely, that will be humanly impossible. A part of us will always long for that, want to still be there. So, what do we do?

We step out of that comfort zone with LOADS of faith. We trust God. We give ourselves completely over to Him and believe with all our heart that He will be one step ahead of us leading us on that path He has set out for us. Sure, it might be a little scary, or a lot. He will still send people along the way to help us, but we need to trust in Him first and realise that our help and strength comes from Him and that He is our primary source. If we don’t turn to Him we might just end up getting lost along the way or not have the strength to do His work.

When I was studying a friend gave me a card with the following words: ”What we are is God’s gift to us, what we become is our gift to God”.

So, when it is time......... LET GO........ trust God.
