Moses new life in Midian
I’ve always pictured Moses as a strong, robust man, fearless and courageous. However, even Moses became fearful. Moses saw a fellow Hebrew being beaten, this angered him, so Moses killed the man that abused the Hebrew slave and when another man saw what he had done and mentioned it to Moses, Scripture says Moses was fearful, Ex 2:14 Moses feared, and said, “surely this thing is known”. Pharoah sought to kill Moses, so Moses fled to Midian. Exodus 2:15 Moses fled from the face of Pharoah, and dwelt in the land of Midian.
Have you ever moved to a new place? What did it feel like? You probably had to find new places to shop and bank. It is not easy to move to a new place. It takes depending on God to make it through starting a new life in your new place, the way Moses trusted God when he fled to Midian. God protected Moses and was with him as he began his new life. God blessed him in his new life.
While in Midian he married Zipporah [ the daughter of Jethro, a high priest],God did not abandon Moses, Jethro [ Moses’ father-in-law] saw all God had done for Moses he knew that God was the LORD. Ex.18:10 what did Jethro see though? He saw that God delivered Moses from the Egyptians, and from Pharoah. In other words ,Jethro saw how God worked in Moses life.
God was with Moses as he began his new life in Midian and he blessed Moses and he is with us as believers as we walk with him. Hebrews 13:5 For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Can you remember a time when God protected you or delivered you from someone or something? Isn’t it comforting to know that God is with us and helps us as he did Moses? God shows no partiality Acts 10:34 Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons. In other words, if God cared for Moses and blessed him and helped him, he can do it for us as well.
LORD I remember many times when you protected me and helped me in hard times, thank you for all you do for me and for being with me always, in Jesus name
