Sunday 4/15/12 Rev. Twanna sermon My Time Has Come! Deut 2:1-3, 7
=============================================================================================
We are the choices we have made. We don’t always make wise decisions because sometimes we make choices out of fear. When this is so, we must deal with the consequences. When it turns out to be a hot mess, we then want to blame God instead of taking the responsibility ourselves.
The Israelites escaped Egypt, traveled thru the Red Sea and now they are in the wilderness for 40 years. This journey should have only lasted 11 days. They spent 40 years in the wilderness because of the condition of their heart. In Chap 1 they are about to enter into the promise land. Moses tells the people to remember how God helped them. We also need to not forget how God helped us in the past and how other people helped us also.
Don’t forget how family and friends had to pray us thru our mess.
Don’t forget where we came from and where God has brought us from!
If God said it then that settles it!
****When Our Time Has Come:
1) When We are Willing to Follow God’s directions: Vs. 1
God guides us and we follow. He directs them and us thru a wilderness so we can get understanding and experience. If we do the things God says to do, the way He says to do it, then we won’t go thru so much stuff. God is still faithful to keep us fed and clothed thru the hard times and the wilderness.
2) When We Determine Not to Focus on Our Delays:
Don’t focus on when we are coming out but what lessons we are to learn while going thru. We need to keep God first and continue to progress in the Word. Don’t focus on delays; instead ask God what we are supposed to learn. The things of God we need to learn are to be more grateful, more obedient and more trusting in God. Our delays do Not mean denial!
Hold On!
3) When We Learn to Have Faith in Our Deliverance Vs 2
God wants us to know that He can bring us out! When we can say that its God’s will, not ours, then God will say its time for us to turn North.
North is a direction that is Up! God wants us to go Up and not just out of our mess, but Up! Up…the sky is the limit! We got to be strong and courageous, We got to follow God’s word no matter how things look. Have faith in our deliverance!
Pray as while….Praise a while!
Pray a while….Praise a while!
The Joy we have, the world didn’t give to us and the world can’t take it away!
Our time has come! My time has come! Our time has come!
God isn’t going to just bring us out, but bring us Up!
AMEN
