I was taking a venture into a great book on the fall of America. In it was the words of our leaders from presidents to justices on the Supreme Court. In looking at todays Supreme Court I count it an honor that I will be judged by the true God of an even greater court.
President George Washington, "It is impossible to rightly govern without God or the Bible."
On speaking of the Bible, President Andrew Jackson said, "That book sir is the Rock upon which our public rests."
Abraham Lincoln said, "In regard to this great Book I have to say this, it is the best gift God has given to men. All the good Savior gave to the world was communicated through this Book."
Then one president had this to say of God and the Bible,"Inside the Bible lie all the answers to all the problems man has ever known. It is my firm belief that the enduring values presented in its pages have a great meaning, for each of us and our nation. The Bible can touch our hearts, order our words, and refresh our souls," Ronald Reagan.
John Quincy Adams,"All must admit that the reception of the teachings of Christ results in the purest patriotism, in the most scrupulous fidelity to public trust, and the best kind of citizenship."
This next passage should be one on every American Christian heart. We have fallen here and need to return to our God the Father of Heaven. This small passage shows us of our great need of revival in America. Thomas Jefferson, "I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever."
Maybe instead of expounding I simply should say read that last one again and again. See the deep meaning behind it. I tremble for my country, it is like saying I fear for America. When I reflect that God is just, He is a Holy just sovereign God. His will His desires His Ways will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. He will bring to justice the unjust. He will bring purity to the impure. Just what end of that justice will we be on. My friend that is up to you. That His justice cannot sleep forever. Peter said God is long suffering not willing that any should perish, but God must be just and put an end to the injustice of this world. He will not let it go on for very long. Oh, and one more thing, separation of church and state that phrase has never been in the constitution of the United States. Nor has it ever been in the first amendment. It is a misinterpretation from Thomas Jefferson to Danbury Baptist Association pastor, Roger Williams written by Jefferson while he was serving as Ambassador in France.
All quotes by the presidents on this hub are public record, most of them from court trials or spoken during the making of the U.S. constitution, or from the American Revoluiion.
