In-Perfect

I am an imperfect person
Walking with a perfect savior

I daily need his strength
To best embody the faith

Though my mistakes don’t accurately represent
God’s encouraging spirit is his present

Power and praise to His grace
For I am in-perfect hands in Christ

Are you an imperfect person?
Falling short of God’s perfection?

If you are, you need his peace
Through him all worries cease

Though I may not know your story
You were made to bring him glory

Power and praise to His grace
For you are in-perfect arms in Christ

We are all imperfect people
Strive for community with Christ in the center

The devil may try to bring us down
But rejoice in the truth upon solid ground

When two or more gather in Jesus’ name
‘He is among them’ is his bold claim

Power and praise to His grace
For we are in-perfect company in Christ

Jesus was a perfect person
Trust in the truth of his power

Salvation is not won by one’s pity purity
But from the works of the Prince of Peace

Sacrificed out of love was his gift to me
And forgiveness of sin for all who believe

Power and Praise to His grace
For we are in-perfect salvation in Christ alone

Lord, create beauty out of our imperfection
Help us to be greater for your greater good
May we share with others your grace
Deepen within our personal faith
And injustice one by one erased
Power and praise to His grace
Amen
