You’ve heard about the people of God being compared to the sands of the sea because of their great number, but did you know Genesis 15:5 says they are uncountable like the stars in the heavens? As a child of God you are one of His stars, and a constant reminder of His great handiwork. As a matter of fact, He can’t keep you off of His mind because you’re a reminder of His own love. Psalm 112:6 says the righteous will be in (His) everlasting remembrance. When you study the word everlasting and remembrance in the original language, you quickly come to the understanding you are indeed a new creation in Christ.

You represent God’s saving grace in His sacrificed son Jesus who died so you may live eternally. But you don’t just live, the Hebrew says you glitter. Yes, you sparkle with the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ as a shimmering memorial to what was done on Calvary so long ago. It says you are an eternal record in the fabric of time shining with the message that God saves! And because you carry the countenance of God’s love in you, He’s reminded continually of His son’s sacrifice. You glorify God by just having said “yes” to the offer of salvation.

Because you glow with God’s magnificence forever, you’re seen by your Father continually no matter where you roam because you’re brighter than the brightest star to your Father in heaven. Your very presence sends up praises to God thanking Him for His love because you are constantly being transformed into the likeness of Christ through your faith in God’s endless love. So if you’ve always wanted to be a star, now you know that’s just what you are to God. From now on you’ll know you’re a marvelous memorial of your maker’s majesty that marks the very end of the old you and celebrates the brilliant beginning of the new you, because God’s gift of Jesus is wonderfully true.
