I Will Never Leave You

As I walk before your throne, I feel your presence overwhelming me causing me to fall on my knees. I cry Holy are you my Lord! With tears streaming down my face. Never before has a person affected my emotions so much.

But you did.

As I’m bowed down before Him, I feel a touch on my shoulder. Looking up, I see Him in all of His Glory. Fear gripped my heart, but I watched in awe as He grabbed my hand and helped me to stand on my feet.

Suddenly, He spoke and I felt my stomach turn in knots. Sensing this, He put His hand on my shoulder. At that moment, I felt an overwhelming calm. If I could I would have drifted off, but I couldn’t. Who would want to fall asleep in front of the Holies of Holies!
I felt Jesus’ eyes on me. I wanted to say something, but I couldn’t find the right words to say. My thoughts were screaming at me. “Say Something! Now is your moment! But still the words wouldn’t come.

Jesus cupped my face and said, “Don’t be afraid.”

Looking up into His beautiful face, I replied, “Thank you for forgiving me, even when I turned my back on you. I’m sorry for hurting you and everything that I’ve done. I realize now that I’ve had love all this time when I was looking for and craving love. You’ve been good to me and I don’t deserve it. I just have one request:
Please don’t leave me. I need you now more than ever. I just don’t know what I would do without you!”

Jesus remained calm, but I can see a single tear in the corner of His eye. He looked at me and said, Child, I will never leave you nor forsake you. “

Hearing this made me cry even more. I felt Jesus arms wrap around me and I fell into His embrace. This is exactly what I needed to hear! Now I can live in peace knowing that He won’t leave me that He is always by my side. And that caused me to love him even more.
