Easter, the commemoration festival of Jesus’ resurrection, is fast approaching. Jesus changed Good Friday into a Glorious Easter by fulfilling the will of God. Easter is the strength of the gospel of Jesus.

Saint Paul writes to the people of Corinth, “If Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified of God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised.” (1 Cor. 15: 14-15 Bible RSV) The resurrection of Christ is an assurance to the Christian faith.

Easter message of Jesus

If you go through the words Jesus had told before and after his death and resurrection, we can find the fulfillment of all his teachings in them. Before taking up Crucifixion, Jesus gave the New Commandment of Love and prayed for unity. During the Last Supper, before the Passion of Jesus, he talked with his disciples with touching words. He prayed for the whole humanity. ”That they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.” (John 17:21)
After his resurrection, he gave the message of peace. Whenever he appeared he blessed all with peace.

Unity and peace is the message of Easter. It should start from home. Since family is the nucleus of human society, family should resurrect in real life. Families should taste and live the love of God.

Families are dying today

In the modern lifestyle families are dying. When the family life is shattered faith is also lost. Family is the indispensable foundation for a society. Marital life of couples has gone to gutters today. When couples become selfish, they go for divorce. Statistics say that divorce is increasing everyday at an alarming rate. Marital bed, the sanctuary of Divine Love, has become the ugliest place in so many ways. Hence peace of mind is lost in family members, children have become lost in immoral lifestyle and the society is in chaos.

Let the families resurrect during this Easter

Easter has come with the message of peace and unity. Mere outward shows cannot bring any blessing to anyone. It is only through understanding and accepting one another in the family can fill each one with the blessings of Risen Lord. Let this Easter be a real blessing to all.
