You can’t make a difference, why even try
Doing for others who at times make you cry
Using you, they leave you hanging out to dry
Alone as life passes by sitting to ponder why
Time keeps moving ahead the closing door
It’s not unfamiliar, you’ve seen it all before
But faith provides opportunity once more
History can repeat itself or write a new score
Sticking to old guns will lead nowhere new
Honesty gives sight to another point of view
Becoming realization bringing you out of you
Suddenly you’re looking and stepping through
That once closing door is propped open wide
And inside you feel something old has died
Smiling you know love is on the other side
It’s the sign your heart is now your guide
