Grief

I am really relieved for you Ellen. Your race is finished and you are now happier than ever you have been.

One may think you are worrying about your children and grandchildren, but for the first time in your life you are confident with all confidence that God is in charge of all things, and you are glad to know it in a new way.

This house of clay and the barriers we have to the world of the spirit cut us off from many truths. Oh yes, it IS all there in the Scriptures, but we can’t connect the world of the spirit to the one we call “real;” we let the “real” fog our view of the “really real.”

I know your life was always a struggle, and not because you could not have had it otherwise, because you were capable here in this part of existence; but you struggled with the helping of many others in their problems, and suffered much at the hands of those who should have protected you. But NOW, all that is nothing in view of your present great joy.

I know also that you are so proud of the children and grandchildren who looked after your needs in these last years of bodily weakness. I know you rejoice for them about the blessings they have coming their way, because God rewards such acts of love and obedience.

Getting to reunite with those who seemed forever absent from your life must be a great happiness to you.

Conversely, knowing that those you love, those who remain and do not now see you, are prone to miss you with painful grieving must make you wish you could tell them that it isn’t very long until everyone will be together again.

The longest of lives here is so short. I know you would tell them to think upon this thought: “Separation is temporary. Reunion is forever.”

It’s good to live and to live forever in the Place the Lord has prepared.

So, until we too catapult ahead into the “really real” world, we will not look back grieving your presence from our temporary world called “today;” we will rather look ahead knowing that you are in our future.
