In the rumbling peals of thunder,
In the flashing forks of light
As the clouds are burst asunder
By the tempest’s fearsome might,
Bow my head in awe and wonder
As the lightning bolts ignite.

Though I marvel, slightly frighted
At the storm cloud’s flash and flare;
Fire and brimstone can be sighted
In the heaven’s angry glare
And the might of God is cited
To each eye that is aware.

In this awesome demonstration
Nature’s energy untamed
Presents Heaven’s illustration
Of God’s judgement yet restrained;
To my heart a revelation
In the stormy skies proclaimed.

God’s the Author, instigator
Of this spectacle of might;
It shouts loudly of Creator
In each blast and bolt of light;
Yes, the sky’s God’s amphitheatre
Where’s displayed His pow’r tonight.
