11 Chronicles 16

What starts out right can end up wrong
It is possible to be married but not in love
Therefore we must look after our salvation
People have started off right but are ending up in the wrong place

A man named Asa spent the first 35 years of his 41-year reign
Doing what was right in the eyes of the Lord
However in the 36th year, his faith shifted and this
Changed his fellowship with the Lord—
Asa at one point in his life did not call on the help of the Lord
This cost him dearly—it changed the cause of his life
As a result Asa turned against God—
Tragically, after following the Lord for most of his life,
Asa died in misery because his heart had turned cold in his old age

Today we see many in this category—their hearts are turning cold
They start off well for the Lord and are quite long with Him and
Then the latter part of their lives they turn against God
Today I see many churches doing the same
I see the emerging churches turning against God
I see pastors turning against God—A similar fate as Asa

There are stages in our lives that we are suppose to go to God for help
And we decide to go to someone else; This is a mistake
We must first go to God—we worship Him when we bring something difficult to Him

What starts out right can end up wrong
It is possible to be married but not in love
Therefore we must look after our salvation
People have started off right but are ending up in the wrong place
When this happens it is an indication that individuals
Have been power hungry and not God hungry
Many today have the Holy Spirit but have not search their hearts
They have ignored the information the Holy Spirit has been given them
Concerning their true desires for the Gospel and as a result
They were suppose to repent and change their motives
The heart is inherently evil; therefore we must listen to Him
Christ is the new creation in our lives

Let us pray for each other because many are becoming ‘cold’ and
They are turning away from the Lord—they are becoming like Asa
Asa had the spirit of the Lord and then his heart was revealed
