Value of Friendship

Peace be with you. Your friends here send you their greetings. Please give my personal greetings to each of our friends there.

Army Specialist Angela Santos had made many friends since her enlistment in the Army. Specialist Beth Brown and Angela became best friends. After Angela’s death from an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) in Iraq, Bath explained how they became friends.

Having been transferred in from another unit, Angela recognized Beth was uncocmfortable when she notice her sitting by herself in the dining facility. Angela left the comfort of her friends to sit down across from Beth. Angela broke the ice by boldly asking Beth where she was from, what she liked to do and her favorite foods. From that moment, Beth and Angela became best friends until her death three years later. Angela’s gesture changed Beth’s life forever.

In a world growing more suspicious, one act of love more often than not changes lives for good. As our world become smaller and smaller, Christians must be willing to display the light of Christ to the world without fear. We know and have experienced God’s unconditional love. For this reason, we are experts at lending an open hand to a desperate world longing for purpose and meaning.

In a world or more than 7 billion souls, every person is able to have many friends. On this day, do something in word and/or deed to make another feel at home. Your gesture will change lives forever!
