A long-time friend of mine who had been away for a while came around on a visit and she promised to pay me a visit.
After postponing her visit time and time again, I gave up on her coming. I put away all the preparations I had made for her visit from food and drinks to my physical appearance and even general grooming and keeping of the house. I stopped expecting her.
One afternoon, I was taking a nap when I heard the doorbell ring. I went to answer it and behold, it was my good old friend. I let her in but I felt very ashamed of myself as there was nothing to entertain her, the house and even I was looking unkempt. And it was too late to remedy the situation.
After she left, it dawned on me that a lot of us used to be prepared for the coming of Jesus Christ, but today, it is no longer so. We have put materialism and other things ahead of our relationship with Christ.
Examine your life today and get prepared because Jesus is coming soon and unexpectedly too. Will you be sleeping when he comes?
