God’s Revelation of Himself

The first two verses of the bible reveal three things. The first revelation is about the existence of GOD. He has always existed, continues to exist, and will always exist. Faith is the key to unlocking this revelation for you. Hebrews 11:6 states “But without faith, it is impossible to please him, for he who comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him” (NKJV). If you are struggling with putting your faith in God, let me ask you to consider how many times a day you exercise faith in fallible things. The principle of aerodynamics lifts an airplane weighing between 700,000 and 900,000 pounds off the ground at altitudes of 30,000 feet or greater. Very few people, if any, fully understand this concept but many people put their faith in a human pilot to carry them great distances on these aircraft on a daily basis. You have faith that your shower will produce hot water, that your car will start and get you to where you need to be, that your doctor will use his or her knowledge of the human body to help you heal, or that your company will pay you in the future for work you have performed or will perform today. If you can put your faith in these fallible things, why can’t you do the same for an all knowing, ever present, and all powerful GOD?
The second revelation in these verses is that God can create something valuable and priceless out of nothing. God created the universe from NOTHING!!!!!! This is also a hard concept to accept but it is a valid one. God is the designer, the architect, and the builder of this world and all that is herein. He knows its deepest secrets and is willing to share them with fallible man. Consider all the modern technology that mankind has discovered and uses today. The principles behind these “advances” were put in place by God. God designed the universe for mankind and He desires for us to benefit from its wonders and its majesty. Despite all the modern day discoveries, we have not yet begun to fully tap into the infinite knowledge and power of GOD. The good news is that GOD knows the intimate details of your life. He knows your hurts, your pains, your struggles and your inadequacies. It doesn’t matter how hopeless you think your life has become, GOD can turn it around and can take the nothingness of your life and create something beautiful, worthwhile, and meaningful.
The third revelation in these verses is that He is always present. You can’t go anywhere or do anything that is outside the presence of GOD. You can’t go so far that He isn’t able to reach you. He may seem distant, aloof and uncaring. He is none of those things. He is only a prayer away. He will not come into your life unless you invite Him to do so. If you do, you will find out that he has always been willing to come to your side and that he has intervened in your life at times without your knowledge, to protect you and to guide you in ways which you were not aware. He did so because of His love for you. God gave you the bible to reveal himself to you and to guide you into a relationship with him that will fulfill your deepest needs and desires. He not only designed the universe, he designed you and he knows what it takes to bring meaning and purpose to your life. All he asks is that you surrender your desire to be your own person to him so that he can make of you the person you desire to be. He knows you better than you know yourself and as soon as you come to that realization, and surrender to it, you will begin the journey to an abundant and productive life. You may encounter pain, hardship, and struggles along the way but you have a GOD who will guide and direct you all the way through to the other side.
