"Beautiful"

Are the laughing eyes of my child...
Deep wells of love and trust.
There are heights I must climb...
I can climb them for him.

How "beautiful"

To live in the
Mountains and deserts...
Sunrises and wildflowers...
Even rain in its solemnity...
And days of no sun anywhere...

All a masterpiece of experience and healing...
Of growth.

"Beauty"

In the simple things...

In quiet moments of thought
When the thoughts make me smile...
Or even laugh.

"Beauty"

Also in the songs of uncertainty.
I don't have to know when the song will be finished...or if it will go on and on...
Or what it might mean.

God takes the melancholy and joyful notes
And comforts me with the rich blessing of memory.

"How beautiful"

Is life in all its
Mysterious, ethereal color...
Splashed...carefully brushed...
Onto one day that leads into another.

Some darkness and heartache here and there
For dramatic undertone.

One day the portrait will be finished
To hang on the wall beside my book of days...

An existence that was
Nothing glamourous or pretentious...
Imperfections here and there.

Simply beautiful in every way...

Because God was the artist.
