A question is asked, by the silent soul
dear Lord God, do you care
For the heart silently wants to know
are you, even still there

You said you know every hair on my head
my uprising and setting down
And my thoughts even before I think them
each and every one that comes around

My every need you know, before I ask
because your word tells me so
But, yet my silent heart does question
why is it taking so slow

For you to intervene on my souls behalf
and to lift every rain filled cloud
That has a way of damping one's spirit
when it's trying to stand so proud

With humble steps and sincere praise's
not boastful in one's walk
But holding on to the good things it's learned
and being mindful in one's talk

Having being seasoned by your grace
instilled with mercy through and through
Praying always to abide in love
in knowing it's the right thing to do

So if the soul does wonder
and the silent heart, seeks your, embrace
It's because at times it feels downcast
while running this Christian race

Oh precious Lord God, bear with me
don't chide me for doing this
But, help me to have patience in my wait
and this lesson, I'm glad I didn't miss
