Acting in Agreement

31But [Satan is coming and] I do as the Father has commanded Me, so that the world may know (be convinced) that I love the Father and that I do only what the Father has instructed Me to do. [I act in full agreement with His orders.] Rise, let us go away from here. -John 14:31 (AMP)

The power of agreement is an incredible joint venture. It requires more than one; a dependence or confidence in the thoughts, ideas or motivations of another. Agreement dictates how you move, act, live even how you dress and what you eat.

Through agreement, man was created when God said, “let us make man in our image”. Genesis 1:26 Wars have been waged, for good or for evil by agreement. America was founded and established because of agreement. Any movement, recorded in history, has been made and deemed worthy of recording, because of agreement. You got out of bed today, or stayed under the covers for another five minutes, because you agreed to it.

There are horrible tragedies that take place in people’s lives, that they never agreed to, but that is not what I am talking about here.

Society has been infiltrated with a moral decay that reaches far into the lives of our churches, schools, homes, marriages and children. And like it or not, it is because we have agreed to it.

It is simple enough to stand in our church groups and agree about how horrible it is, but it goes beyond that. How often have you caught yourself in a discussion about “it’s just the world we live in”, and you were shaking your head in agreement?

My Aunt had breast cancer. My mother and she would pray together daily for healing. My Aunts husband took my mother aside and told her to quit filling my Aunts head with the idea of being healed. He was a Christian. My Aunt lost her battle. I am not saying it was her husband’s fault. But a husband’s agreement with his wife carries much more weight than a sister’s. He was already in agreement for her defeat.

Every single time, without fail, where David and I have not been in agreement and we have moved forward anyway, has ended in disastrous results. That is not an exaggeration.

You are a walking, talking, living, breathing advertisement for whatever you are in agreement with. It’s your fruit. You can say whatever you want to say, but just like the politicians world-wide, your life is on display.

If this country was founded on Godly principles, what has happened? If this country is eighty percent, self-proclaimed Christians, what is going on? Are these not common sense questions? I think the key element here is self-proclaimed. We have become Professional Claimers!

Oh but wait, “the Bible says that in this world we will have tribulation”. I have another question for you. Why is it that more Christians are familiar with the Scriptures that seem to let them off of the hook, absolving themselves of any responsibility to the condition of the world today?

If eighty percent of America alone, not including the rest of the world, is housing the Holy Spirit, shouldn’t that be saying something? Make no mistake about it, it is speaking volumes! But I don’t believe it is a message we should be proud of portraying.

Can I share something? Jesus knew what was coming, he was afraid and He prayed to God, blood, sweat and tears to let it pass from Him:

39And going a little farther, He threw Himself upon the ground on His face and prayed saying, My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will [not what I desire], but as You will and desire. – Matthew 26:39

Jesus had a desire that was contrary to Gods. Nevertheless, He prayed, God’s will be done.
Jesus Christ, the Messiah, Yeshua, prayed. The Son of God, perfect, came into agreement with the Father, for His will to be done. Why should you offer any less?

“Well, I’m not perfect and I’m not Jesus”. Sound familiar? God knows that. He doesn’t expect that. If you were ever going to be perfect, He wouldn’t have had to send Jesus, He could have waited for you.

This is not about being in agreement with Occupy Wall Street, the War on Terror, or even which song the choir is going to sing in the Christmas program at church. This is about a way of life.
Don’t try to move a mountain when you can’t control the mole hill.

You claim to want to hear God, but do you? Are you in agreement with Him in how you live? What about how and where you spend? Are you in agreement with God about what you are watching, what you are eating, who you are spending time with? Does how you respond to your spouse and your children correlate with God’s Word?

Or are you in agreement with society, what they wear and how they act? Are you in agreement with the people that know all of the Scriptures that excuse you from having any responsibility to make a difference?

Remember, God doesn’t expect perfection from you, that’s why He sent Jesus. You are a pot, a vessel used to pour out. What exactly are you a vessel for? And when you are poured out, what does it show you are in agreement with?
