Samuel 17:15
But David went and returned from Saul to feed his father's sheep at Bethlehem.

So for this reason alone, they think that since you were in your fathers field with the sheep, alone, you were just tending the sheep. Thus says the Lord, I gave them "...eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear; unto this day." Romans 11:8.

Sometimes i get overwhelmed by a single scripture that i want to thank God for the abundance of revelations. The story of David becoming King speaks life in my situation. I also know that many of you out there face somewhat the same situation, and thus will be encouraged also.

It is quite hard to work in derision, because our nature as humans and especially men, is to pride in our possesions, not necessarily material, but even those spiritual ones. And so whenever another man does what seems derisive to us, we tend, like cacti, to produce thorns and attack the predator. However, a christian should not be like so; for one should trust in the Lord and only Him.

Samuel 17:34-35
34. And David said unto Saul, Your servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock:

35. And I went out after him, and struck him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and struck him, and slew him.

It is evident that behind the scenes somewhere, God has used our weakest situations to reveal to us our greatest strength (which is His joy, for David says 'The joy of the Lord is my strength'). And so these that come to us with derisive insults are not only weaker in nature than He who is in us, but also uninformed. They know neither the God we serve or the grace by which we are chosen and saved.

So we need not be afraid of them that talk, neither should we be mindful of how they scornfully pass their comments, for everyone of them thinks you were tending sheep, when in fact you were killing lions and bears, by the work of Him who dwells in you; even Him who is ready to work this battle with you, praise God!

Samuel 17:39
...and he attempted to go; for he had not tried it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these;

So when they perceive your apparent weakness, they will suggest heavy burdens as solutions to what they deem your weakness, but servants of the Lord need to know that the joy the joy the joy; "the joy of the Lord is my strength". That is enough for the battle ahead. Powerful!!!

I love Jesus Christ, for he became a lamb to be slain for us, for this revelation is nothing but a result of His earnest work on earth for us. As an unworthy price for His love, i ask Him to use me and you in this work that is at hand. For none can match His everlasting love for us His people.

Samuel 17:57
57. And as David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine...

So we are assured of a return, for this battle we go into is not terminatory, it has victories in it for us who are chosen by the Lord our God. Gird yourself and get ready for the battle, God is mighty in battle, He will be with us through Jesus Christ in us.

They all think you were just tending the sheep when they were fighting the Phillistines, but, remember, there, alone with the sheep, God showed to you His strength expressed in you to His glory, Amen! In Jesus Christ's name, Amen!
