I have always loved you.
Before you came into being
I called you by name.
I chose you from the very start
You had a special place in my heart.

I have always loved you.
The way a dying person longs for breath.
The way a deer pants for water
The way a wanderer hunts for an oasis.

I have always loved you.
My word existed in the beginning
My word was for you.
My words come alive after you have read them.

I have always loved you.
I loved you yesterday
With all the ardour of my being.
I love you today
With all the strong emotions in my heart.
I will love you tomorrow and forever
With all the perceptions of my soul.
