Of all the questions that have puzzled mankind for centuries, the basic one is 'Why do bad things happen to good people,' and 'Why is evil allowed to roam the Earth.' The two are summed up in the basic question of 'Where was God when evil men were shoving six million Jews into the ovens during the Holocaust.'
The answer takes us back to the Lord's prayer. Prayer is the most important and the most powerful weapon a Christian has. In Matthew, the disciples come to Jesus and basically ask, 'How do we most effectively use the most powerful weapon we have?"
Jesus gives them a prayer that has almost been overlooked by the church. He begins with praise to the Father, then says, "Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, On Earth as it is in heaven."
This tells us that when His Kingdom comes, His will will be done. When the Kingdom comes, God's will is accomplished and fulfilled on the Earth. But if His Kingdom does not come, then His will is not done on the Earth.
But what does the Scripture mean by Kingdom? It's not just a piece of ground. In Matthew 12:25, Jesus has driven out some demons and he is accused of doing so with demonic help. He says, nonsense. If Satan drives out Satan then how can his kingdom stand.
"But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you," Jesus tells the crowd
The Kingdom of God is established when a believer manifests the power and glory of the Spirit of God. When the Kingdom of God is manifested by the power of the Holy Spirit, disease, sickness and demons flee. Because, as Psalms tells us, the Kingdom rules over all.
But notice Jesus mentions two kingdoms.There is also a Kingdom of Darkness or Satan's Kingdom. When it is established, then Satan's will is done on the Earth.
What has Satan always tried to do. He has always wanted to kill the Jews. He wants to kill Christians now too but he was seeking to kill Jews even in Old Testament times.
Sadly, in Germanh in World War II, the Kingdom of Satan, was established so Satan's will was done.
When the Kingdom of God is established, the Earth does transform into becoming more and more like heaven. Thy Kingdom come, they will be done."
But if Satan's Kingdom is established, the oppposite happens. The Earth begins to look more and more like Hell, thus the death camps and the Holocaust.
