The noise of battle?
Yes. Men locked in mortal combat
And for the sake of not many dollars.
Maybe just a few cents!
In my weakness and tiredness I cry.
"Take from me the very appearance
The presence of the asinine,
The dishonorable, the futile life-robbing battle!
Allow me to know Communion
With the Most High ON HIS TERMS.
"NOT for the little while
That is of MY convenience
And MY choosing."
