God is a God of love. He loves the world so much that He gave His only begotten son for the redemption of the lost world. If God is motivated by love to offer His only Son as propitiation for the sin of humanity, one may conclude that this same God cannot be angry.

But a closer look at the word of God reveals to us diverse occasions where God shows anger. He killed the entire first child in every house in Egypt (Exodus 12:29), and later destroyed the whole army of Egypt and their chariots in red sea (Exodus14:28). God in His fury sent fire to destroy the people of Sodom and Gomorrah.

‘THEN THE LORD RAINED UPON SODOM AND UPON GOMORRAH BRIMSTONE AND FIRE FROM THE LORD OUT OF HEAVEN (Genesis 19:24).

Think about the people in Noah’s days when God sent heavy downpour of rainfall to wipe out that generation. What about Herod who was eaten by worms, Nebuchadnezzar who lived like an animal for seven years, Gehazi smitten by leprosy, the rich man who went to hell, and so on. All these people experienced God’s anger.

Why was God angry with these people? They all disobeyed God. Disobedience is a major reason why God unleashes His anger on anyone who chose to neglect God’s instruction.

LET NO MAN DECEIVE YOU WITH VAIN WORDS: FOR BECAUSE OF THESE THINGS COMETH THE WRATH OF GOD UPON THE CHILDREN OF DISOBEDIENCE. (Ephesians 5:6).

The wrath of God will surely come upon anyone who disobeys God’s order. To reject Christ’s lordship over your life is disobedience. To lead your life the way you want without allowing God to direct you is disobedience. Anything you do that is contrary to God’s principle is disobedience, and it attracts God’s anger.

But know that ANYONE WHO OBEYS GOD WILL NEVER EXPERIENCE GOD’S ANGER, BUT HIS MERCY, BLESSING, GRACE, POWER,……. Choose to obey God’s principle for your own benefit. God bless you. –Evang. Dare Olusola +2347057546196
