Scripture to reflect upon: Romans 5:5
"And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love."

Knock, knock.
Who’s there?
God.
God who?

It’s no joke. God is knocking. Are you standing behind the door asking a series of questions? God who? Who are you looking for? What do you want? God isn’t a solicitor. He is earnestly and eagerly looking for a place to dwell. God’s not homeless, but his Spirit seeks a home in your heart.

God’s spirit is like the proverbial “house guest” that never leaves. He’s probably going to break a few things, rearrange the furniture, make life a bit uncomfortable at times, invade your privacy, and He’ll be everywhere you turn. Even if you try to lock Him out, He will stand outside and knock until you open the door again.

And while He’s rearranging a few things and making life a bit uncomfortable, He’ll also fill your heart and soul with peace, joy, happiness, contentment and love. He will show you right from wrong and direct your path. And when you see how nicely He’s rearranged everything, and how your life functions much easier the way He's changed things around, you won’t want Him to leave. You’ll be glad He's there...always.

NOTE TO SELF: In Solomon’s days, God’s spirit was hauled around in an arc. However, thanks to Jesus, today His spirit can reside within our hearts. He wants to become your companion. He wants to spend time with you. He wants to hear about your day and your life. He wants you to know who He is, too. If God is knocking, you should answer.
