Will there come a day when regret grips this heart of mine?
When I wish I could turn back the hourglass of time
Wishing I’d cherished every moment; everything I heard
Wishing I had listened intently to every single word.
In my haste I should never say goodbye
I should appreciate every single sparkle in your eye.
If I focused on those that I loved the most
There would be no wishing- If I’d only held you close.
I’ll love you greater, stronger and deeper; I’ll love you more
Because that is what this heart was made for.
From now on, I’ll give to you a little more of me
As time creeps by you don’t realize- then it’s all lost at sea.
Harsh words may be spoken -that is in the past
Here on out let’s move on and make forever last
This day may be our last so let’s give it all we’ve got
This heart has so much more so before our life is shot…
Let’s love greater, stronger, and deeper; let’s love each other more
Because that is what our hearts are made for.
We get too busy to spend a little of our time
What if tomorrow doesn’t come and we’re no longer in our prime?
I want to cherish every moment- you here by my side
Don’t let appreciation get away- like the current of a tide
I don’t want to realize in death that life has passed me by
As I stand before the Father, with an empty wasted life.
Let’s love greater, stronger, and deeper; let’s love each other more
Because that is what our hearts are made for.
