Prophecy
UN Vote on Palestine will lead to war…. This was a headline in “Israel today magazine” published on June 29th 2011. This headline tells it all, the pending vote in the UN on September, succeed or fail it will result in war. The article goes on to say that if the motion carries then the majority (76%) of Palestinians are calling for their military to seize control of Judea, Samaria and eastern Jerusalem (or the old city). Ti would seem self-evident that if it carries or not the Palestinians will launch an offensive against Israel to try and take the territory by force, one thing that is certain should this happen the Palestinians will unlikely be alone in this endeavor.
UN Vote on Palestine will lead to war - The Players
Time it seems is marching onward into fulfillment of biblical prophecy, should Palestine attack Israel, given their military strength which is basically none existent, they will need assistance, which will likely come from Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon and potentially even Saudi Arabia. It appears that we are inevitable slipping toward the fulfillment of Psalm 83 , which tells of an alliance (Psalm 83:6-8 ) of these countries against Israel. Iran is strangely silent in this endeavor but given the masses of arms that Iran has provided to groups like Hezbollah, there is no doubt that Iran will be pulling the strings behind the scenes. It is also unusual that the Middle East which is normally in conflict either openly or through terrorism on a daily basis appears subdued. This is more than likely an attempt by the Palestinians to avoid any derailing of the vote by the UN due to violence, but we will see the true nature unleashed after the vote in September.
One thing is certain should Israel be attacked, little international opinion will stay their hand in retaliation. Israel since it became a nation has continually offered compromise after compromise to the enemies around them. In 2000 Israel removed its troops from southern Lebanon where they had maintained a military buffer between themselves and Hezbollah since 1982. This was under a UN mandate to resolve the conflict where Hezbollah were firing missiles into Israel from within occupied cities in Lebanon. Israel unwilling to return fire and risk killing innocents restrained their retaliation. To avoid further loss of life Israel withdrew giving Hezbollah exactly what they demanded, but did this stop the assault? No! Rockets continued to fall on Israel. Hezbollah is 100% armed and trained by Iran and the weapons they are using are primarily Russian made. Israel continually makes concessions towards peace but those demanding these concessions simple up the ante when they get any concessions, emboldened they push and push for more and more and some point there has to be a breaking point.
UN Vote on Palestine will lead to war - The UN
The UN vote is likely to be followed by a UN mandate for Israel to withdraw to its pre-1967 borders. This would result in Israel losing control of Jerusalem Old City, given the biblical significance of this city to the Jewish people it is very unlikely that Israel will comply, no matter how much they want to compromise. Unfortunately for those nations that will inevitably be arrayed against Israel, Israel has the word of God behind them, as in the 1948 war when Israel were outnumbered 100 to 1, and won a decisive victory against those arrayed against them. Any future war will undoubtedly have a similar outcome, Israel with or without superior strength will emerge victorious.
Psa 83:15-18 So pursue them with thy tempest, And terrify them with thy storm. Fill their faces with confusion, That they may seek thy name, O Jehovah. Let them be put to shame and dismayed for ever; Yea, let them be confounded and perish; That they may know that thou alone, whose name is Jehovah, Art the Most High over all the earth.
UN Vote on Palestine will lead to war - Conclusion
Let me close by saying that even though this appears to be a possible trigger for the fulfillment of Psalm 83 , we can only guestimate at when and what events will cause this war, the outcome of the vote in the UN will cause significant tension in the Middle East and potentially can cause outcome. We cannot know God’s plan all we can do is to watch, wait and prepare ourselves for the inevitable outcome. One thing is for certain, we are in time of the end, the news is daily filled with articles that point to completion of the God’s prophetic timeline but as to when exactly this will occur is not for us to know.
