I stand on a knoll
overlooking the valley
my heart is filled with sorrow
as I pray for a release.

A tiny feather blows my way
circles around and above my head.
Swoopes to and from
like a beautiful butterfly.

I reach out to grab it,
winds blow it high into the sky.
I wait to see if it returns,
out of no where,

it zooms pass just over my head
drifts from side to side
like a cradle rocking to soothe a child.
It twirls around and around,

and blows away with the wind.
I know--
someone greater was listening.
