Grief

he stopped by today uninvited but welcomed just the same
he didn't have much to say -
hello, good-bye
then they were on their way

i had seen him
outside
through my windows for some time
i knew it wouldn't be long before he introduced himself

sad,
no not really,
maybe a little disappointed in some way

glad he didn't stay too long; wearied that I know his face

hello was easy, good-bye was not

i wish we had more time but -
death stopped by unannounced today yet welcomed just the same
