Sunday 8-28-11 Minister Hooper sermon-It’s Been God! Acts 26:22

Acts 26:22: Having therefore obtained the help of God, I continue unto this day.

We at this church are blessed to be able to choose which of three services we will attend. Some churches used to only have one service and if someone came late, church is over. There used to not be air conditioner in church, used to not be camera men, used to not be a men’s room and a ladies room. There used to only be one bathroom that everybody had to use.

The reason why we are all where we are today is that its been God! The help of God is what kept us going. A lot of people don’t like to admit where they got their help from. Many take credit for all their college degrees and great positions. Paul tells the truth in that the reason he is where he is at today is because it was God’s help! Paul and Silas were alone in prison and all they could do was sing praises to God. The only reason that Paul survived is because God had been there.

It was God who told us how to stretch $5.00! It was God who taught us how with one dress, to fix it up in different ways so we can wear it five times and no one knows it’s the same dress! God helped us! God gave us assistance! God is our back up system! It was God who got us thru college classes like algebra and spanish. We can barely speak english so you know its been God!

Help: this implies that God is coming to improve our condition!

We may look good to outsiders but everybody needs help and God is helping us cause he has the power to help us thru. God comes to contribute to the furtherance of our destiny. God is not going to let us miss our destiny.
He wants us to know that he will help us to continue.

To continue: this means move ahead and don’t stop!
We are going to make it as long as we can have the help of God. There are people who are haters that are just waiting for us to fail.
Sorry Boooo…….God our Help!! The devil is mad at us because God keeps helping us! God helps us with money, with food to eat, with fixing a flat tire on the side of the road.

To continue: this means to resume after an interruption. We had an interruption but God told us to resume. We should laugh out loud at the devil cause he thought we wouldn’t survive thru the last foolishness!!

Interruptions: something comes up when we are doing good and God comes by and says its alright. We just need a little help from God. The devil gets mad. He has been throwing his best shot and we are continuing-resuming after the interruption. An interruptions is a disturbance, something that happens and interferes.
The devil is waiting for our funeral but it is going to be a party cause God is going to help us!
All that we see, all that we have, all that we hear--Its Been God!!
All of it has been God!!!
