Romans 11 – Feeling alone

Feeling alone again.
Feelings of sentiment.
Thinking about the past.
Why my future didn’t last.
My plans have come unclear.
Faith is becoming fear.
A future I thought I’d seen.
What does this all mean?
So now I look to you.
Holy Spirit guide me through.
I could look to many things.
From friends to diamond rings.
But that won’t change my place.
I need to seek your face.
Embrace this time alone.
And not replace it on my own.
So I’ll be alone with you.
It’s the best thing I can do.
In your arms is where I’ll stay.
Until the hurt has gone away.
Even then I will not flee.
In Jesus I must be.
Not alone have I been.
Wasn’t failure wasn’t sin.
Just a feeling that had lied.
All along You were by my side.
I’ll read your word and say a prayer.
So I’ll remember you are there.

And now I know I was never alone.
