As events unfold in our time on God’s earth
Many are the travails that befall modern-day man


From the East to the West and From the North to the south
Knowledge has indeed increased bringing pride and arrogance in its wake


War, News of war, famine hunger and deprivation
Tribal clashes, riots, civil unrest and rebellion of gross proportions


Persecution of the one that worships “in spirit and in truth”
Harassment and discrimination against that one who adores the lord


Sin and iniquity has multiplied in multiples since after God’s flood of anger
Blasphemy of the name of the One-who-started-it-all is commonplace


Man lives in this world with reckless abandon, throwing all caution to the wind
With no thought for the great and mighty God and His statutes


Like in the days of Nimrod, man is full of pride in his intellect and conquests
Building ‘towers of Babel’ to reach and confront the Almighty


As in the time of Lot, iniquity is encouraged and celebrated
Governments and Nations institutionalize evil and subdue good


As in the time of Noah, what goes on, must deeply sadden God
But for His colorful promise and mercy in the death-on-the-cross


How many will stand when the trumpet today sounds
Frightening to visualize the judgment on THIS sinful world


ONLY a few standing till the end, entering into the REST of our King
God forbid the scene before the rains came....THE number trooping obediently into the ARK ….then IT was ‘sealed’ for the day


Chaos and stampede for the highest heights, struggling and gnashing of teeth as the crowds struggle to stay afloat in the floods,….then all was silent but for the sound of the thundering STORM!


AND THEN THERE WERE ONLY EIGHT!
