Give me something funny, Lord, my humour needs a boost.
I need to laugh, I do, as every chicken needs to roost!
For, I have grown so serious, and truly, that's not me,
so give me something funny, Lord, I know you hold the key.

You think Saint Peter stands as Sentry waiting Heaven's gate.
So, just between the two of us, we both know he's too late.
For Heaven isn't 'up' there as you think Heaven should be,
as Heaven's all around you, and you know? There is no key.

I'm standing here beside you with pen and paper too.
You think that I should guide you, love, in all you say and do.
But don't you know you create from your heart, a heart of gold?
And Heaven's yours, so touch it, like the pen that you now hold.

So write this down by midnight, as I stand here, as I wait.
I shake my head, I'm patient, as you're searching for a date.
But time will wait for no man,as you know, we both agree,
as Heaven now has found you, and you found yourself in Me.
