Hong Kong has changed a lot since we visited this city three years ago: new building developments everywhere and new subway systems. Everything seemed new and strange. It was hard for us to recognize our hometown.

For the first couple days, we spent time in our hotel room and in the two nearby shopping malls. The malls had restaurants, shops and bakeries. One of the malls even had a huge supermarket.

After resting, we, together with my wife’s parents, took the subway trains to a wetland park located in a place called Tuen Mun. In the trains, almost each individual was busy with one thing: texting, playing video games, or talking on their cell phones. Some of the main line trains also had TVs. Entertainment became an integral part of their lives even when they commuted.

In the park, we saw wild birds and the preserved nature of plants; we sensed peace and quietness. It was good that we still could taste of the natural beauty of God’s creation in an overcrowded city. I believe that every HongKonger should come to this park to breathe in fresh air and to experience the nature. But will each one of them find the time to visit this park in their busy lives? If they come, will they be able to feel the existence of the Lord who made the earth and everything in it? Or will they put other things (cell phones, TVs, etc.) aside and come to this park?

Do we as Christians find and spend quiet time with the Lord? Do we come to the Creator in our daily busy lives?
