If someone is trying to do something, and they are not sure how to do it, the first thing they do is hunt for information on that particular topic. With all the resources available online and shelves full of manuals at the local library or bookstore, there are very few things we can’t at least try to turn into a “do-it-yourself” project.

Isn’t it funny that we don’t do the same thing with the biggest project we will ever undertake…life? We have the “manual.” It’s called the Bible; the Word of God. Like nearly all manuals, it has been translated into any language you might need. It, too, has the same availability, online; at libraries; and at the local bookstores. All of the information on how to “build” the best life possible is in there! And just like the other manuals…there are sections to tell you what tools are available to help you do it, what the finished product is supposed to look like. It gives you step-by-step directions to follow all along the way, and even gives you a plan to follow for “troubleshooting” should anything go wrong!. Plus, and this is the best part, it tells you WHO to call on if you have trouble understanding the instructions, or if you mess up in the building process! Why? Because this is one project you really don’t have to do by yourself!

Do you have a situation in your life you don’t know how to handle? Go to the Manual! Not one thing will come up that isn’t covered in the Word. Search it out! There are books available to help you do it; books with topical listings to help you find the scripture that will speak directly to the issue at hand. Example: Are you struggling with depression or discouragement? Try reading the Psalms. Need some wisdom? Proverbs is full of it. Does something in your life seem contradictory to the way it “ought to be?” What does the Word say about it? Look it up!

To have the Word available to you and not use it is like trying to dig up a field with a teaspoon when you have a strong and powerful tractor in the barn! Why do things the hard way if you don’t have to? Take advantage of what God Himself has placed at your disposal! Use the Manual; get the tools; follow the directions! It was written by The Expert! It works!
