Poetry
Like a wolf,
I was wild and untamed
My sanity was barely maintained
I was always looking to devour
Those who would cower
I thought I was in power
Leading my pack to the kill
Jumping at the game’s neck to seal the deal
But once I had my fill
It wasn’t enough and I’d look for another meal
But there was something more deep
I was no longer in the lead
Being led by blood-lust is steep
And what I sowed I did reap
Which was anger, rage, malice the cost wasn’t cheap
To pay for my actions
Cause a hand was bitten bad with lashings
Of whip with bone, He sustained a bashing
His clothes they were trashing
“Why” His mother was asking
But risen He was, my God everlasting
Right seat throne he was given
And tail tucked I came for forgiveness
For my brutality that gave His weight heaviness
Embrace me He did and never let go ever since
The meal I feast on now fills the emptiness
Now a tamed life, I’m living this
Love of my God who was raised to erase sinfulness
My King He will always be
Before Him demons will flee
Angels will sing
Of His grace and beauty with glee
He will never leave
The temple he established in me
Deep rooted in Him I am planted like a tree
His beauty I know I will see
