Marriage

Surely it’s been only a few days, since I was captured by this beauty and her radiant gaze.
This redheaded girl I met as a friend, my amazing companion together ‘til the end.

Seemed almost impossible a glance I’d earn, from the glowing beauty I’d studied and learned.
Shy at first, she was timid for sure, but her delicate touch provided the cure.

Joy and laughter filled our days, as peace from our Father guided our ways.
Dreams in our youth from heaven above, our purpose fueled with our undying love.

Children then came and, such a blessing, first one, then two, and with three came the testing.
Never a dull moment in our lives have we seen, pressing into God to fulfill all our dreams.

Walking and praying; seeking His face, about our present and future in the right place.
His hand always guides us, it’s continually about, like the love of my life, there’s never a doubt.

Giving and serving as hours go past, with righteousness shining and rarely a gasp.
Gracious and loving, she is so alive, it’s hard to believe it’s been twenty-five.

The sparkle still shines in those eyes like a girl, she ages with splendor, so much like a pearl.
The years have brought wisdom, insight and more, to a relationship filled with promise galore.

I’m eternally grateful to God up above, for crossing our paths and delivering love,
and passing it on through three little faces that promise to transform many more places.

A mother inspired and directed from high, deposited wisdom and love in their lives.
So easily influenced and straightforwardly guided, they walk in a pathway already lighted.

The beginning so innocent, clean, and pure, I always believed our love would endure.
Through challenge and change our devotion still thrives, I can hardly believe it has been TWENTY-FIVE!
