What is a great calling? Well some will say to be an Evangelist is best because you are going places, traveling, and ministering the knowledge of Christ sacrifice so that men may be saved. Some people think Prophesy is the greatest calling because you can see things about people to help you minister to their need as well as edify the Christian believers present. I know people who think mission work is really a great calling. They really take care of the poor and needy in desolate places ravaged by famine and poverty. These places suffer from lack of knowledge and education. You go out and build houses for them and minister to material and spiritual need through the love of Jesus Christ. I know a few bible teachers who feel teaching is the way to be more effective because you can foster understanding in people who really don't grasp the bible or how one man could die for all mankind.

What is a great calling? Every thing that you do for the glory and up lifting of the kingdom of God is a GREAT calling. A prophet or teacher is no better than and Evangelist or a Missionary. We must understand that these gifts are given freely to those who will exercise them. God wants us to purpose in our hearts that we will be whatever he wants us to be whenever he calls us to do a task for his kingdom. God wants his people to be dedicated.

The greatest calling is when you were called into the knowledge of salvation. You were called to be his missionary spreading his love through charity to others and kindness. We are to come to the aid of the less fortunate. Everyone who is called a follower of God should be walking in this manner not just abroad but beginning at home. How can you minister outside of home when you have never addressed the situations in you home, neighborhood, community, state, or nation?

You are called to be a teacher by letting your life be and example for other to see and desire to follow the God that you serve. We are expected to tell others about what God is doing or has done for you. Are we not then all Missionaries and teachers? You are called to be and Evangelist by being contagious and passing on the reprove and rebuke of the Lord to those who don't know him, to cause them to question their lives as you walk amongst them. You are called to be God's Prophet to let the unsaved know what is to come and how to avoid destruction.

At any time he can elect to call on you because you accepted him and agreed to do his will. That is why the calling from sin is the greatest calling. So when you hear someone say the hands of the Lord is upon you and the Lord has a calling on your life just be ready to do the work. Whatever the job, do it to his glory for there is no work too big or too small when it comes to love. This is my opinion and I want all to be encouraged to just walk in God and whatever he wants you to do if he speaks to your heart do it and by doing so you will answer your calling walking in his purpose.
