Gospel
When was the last time you saw or experienced the Glory of God? Just take a moment to meditate on this idea. The focus in this article is on a two-dimensional world, the physical (natural), and the spiritual (supernatural). The physical seems to be the order of the day. Everyone locked into autopilot, and focused on daily living, the stuff that can cause a person to be side tracked, and blinded from the spiritual world. It is the hurried life, the hustle and bustle... I want you to think intensely; when was the last time you saw and experienced Gods glory? Do you remember ever experiencing it?
Ok, let us take a step back and ask ourselves what does the glory of God mean? The glory of God is the manifestation and revelation of His love in the radiance of His power and splendor! I believe there are different types & levels of His Glory. Sometimes His glory is subtle, and then there are times when His glory is VIVID and POWERFUL. Experiencing God’s Glory changes ones stance and physical continence. No one recognizing or experiencing His glory is able to maintain their continence...the atmosphere shifts and begins to change. Your mental and physical appearance changes uncontrollably...It is like nothing you will ever experience with anyone, or thing! Nothing can duplicate it. This is how God showed his glory to Moses, as opposed to our own ideas of glory:
NAS [EXODUS 33: 18-23]
18 Then Moses said, "I pray You, show me Your glory!" 19 And He said, "I Myself will make all My goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of the LORD before you; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show compassion on whom I will show compassion." 20 But He said, "You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live!" 21 Then the LORD said, "Behold, there is a place by Me, and you shall stand there on the rock ; 22 and it will come about, while My glory is passing by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed by. 23 "Then I will take My hand away and you shall see My back, but My face shall not be seen."
Notice in the scripture, sometimes we do not see God's glory forthcoming, but we witness the effects of His glory passing! As you read, imagine yourself standing in the cleft of the rock where Moses stood at that moment of time. When God's glory passed by…could you imagine what his hand looked like to Moses? Can you imagine seeing the palm of God's hand covering the rock as you stand there? That had to be a powerful moment in time for Moses as he witnessed and experienced God's hand covering the cleft in the rock.
5 The LORD descended in the cloud and stood there with him as he called upon the name of the LORD. 6 Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in loving-kindness and truth; 7 who keeps loving-kindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations." 8 Moses made haste to bow low toward the earth and worship. 9 He said, "If now I have found favor in Your sight, O Lord, I pray, let the Lord go along in our midst, even though the people are so obstinate, and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us as Your own possession." NAS [EXODUS 34:5-9]
In verses, 5-9, several points revealed. We notice the character of God revealed… His compassion; slowness to anger; abounding in love; kindness; forgiveness; truth; and his wrath to the unjust. We also notice that Moses could not keep his continence, verse 8 states that he bowed low to the earth, and worshipped. Verse 9 is evidence that Moses seeked to find favor with the Lord, and reverenced Him by stating that he wanted the Lord to be within the midst, even when people live in iniquity. We learn from Scripture that when God call you to a task, He will also reveal His glory like nothing you have ever seen or heard.
There will be no doubt that it is He and not Satan. His glory is so vivid and powerful no one could duplicate or present it as He does. His people will know it, so pay attention to every detail. You will know that it is the God of Abraham, Isaac, & Jacob, because you will not be able to verbalize the details you see, it will be too powerful and glorious to explain with mere words!
