Prayers

Open my eyes
and who do I see
but Jesus standing there smiling at me

His eyes so loving and bright
He has watched over me
with care through the night

Oh Jesus who am I
that you come
and in my house abide

He slowly and gently takes my hand
" Oh when I made you
it was part of my plan."

" I wanted someone to bring
my words of life and
forgiveness that sing."

" Will you live in peace
and spread my light
especially to the least?"

I answer with some fear
" I will try Jesus
as long as you are near."

" I am only one song
am I enough to spread
your light all day long?"

He laughs and then replies,
" Oh my beloved, no need to fear
You will see with new eyes.

You will see the goodness in each one
the holiness of their soul
as it shines like the sun

I have given you a loving heart
and this is the day
Now is the time to start."

" Yes Jesus I will be your song
I will sing with my whole heart
all the day long"
