ý For some reason thoughts about change keep grabbing my attention. Joyce thinks the Lord is telling me to change from mean to nice. I thought about it and then recalled Leo Durocher's statement about nice guys and opted for the status quo.

Whitney Dawson, concerning change, wrote:

"3 C'S of life... Choice, Chance, and Change. You must make the choice to take the chance if you want anything to change."

You don't hear much about real change today. It appears that even faith in Jesus has gone from a radical life upheaval to a Milquetoast "I think I will give Him a try." I suppose this type of "conversion" could be related to a Pink Lemonade Gospel, rather than the Blood Red one we older folks have become familiar with.

In the arena of life change as to family and destination it is biblicaly observable that commitment to Christ is prior to change, but what a change.

The other morning I opened a daily motivation quote, sent to me by Nightingale/Conant and was pleasantly surprised to read a dandy from financial expert, Dave Ramsey.

"Not until the pain of the same is greater than the pain of change will you embrace change."

Resistance to change is the stuff of legend be it corporate, church team and especially personal. Without change of some sort things will not stay the same, they wind down. Through positive change they usually get better. Eventually.

Over the years I have noticed that when a person who may be a notorious sinner, or just a plain garden variety becomes a Christian, there is more often than not a painful transition to the new style. This change is much like that of a new born infant struggling to grow into ever changing stages of life. This is normal.

Job spoke of his coming change, referring to his death and Paul talks about this same change in Philippians 3:21:

Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Going to heaven requires change, from lost to found, from earth to heaven, from the physical realm to spiritual the spiritual realm. Progress in life requires near constant change from one plateau to an ever higher one, though we become children of God immediately upon being born again. So, how about a little change?
