“I will always sing of your constant love; I will proclaim your faithfulness forever. I know that your love will last for all time, that your faithfulness is as permanent as the sky.” Psalms 89:1-2

There are times in our life when we go through very distressful moments. How many of us would really have the courage to tell the Lord, “Have Thine Own Way, Lord, Have thine own way, Search me and try me, Master today. Mold me and make me after thy will, while I am waiting, yielded and still.”

When we are given crosses to bear, we should first remember how much God puts up with us daily, with all our drawbacks and shortcomings. Then, our vision would be clearer and we would be able to carry our own crosses with a joyful heart and the thought that when Jesus died, He felt an utter sense of desolation on the Cross. By offering our sufferings, we have somehow shared in His agony in our own little way and lessened His loneliness on the Cross.

When we are tried and tested and have passed through fire, we will inherit the very nature of God. We meet different kinds of people in the walk of life; people with different natures and temperaments. But they all have been created in the image and likeness of God and we should ask God for the grace to accept people as they are.
When Jesus appointed His apostles to go out and preach the good news; He told them, “As the Father sent me, so am I sending you.” (John 20:21) It would do us good to take this line personally as if spoken to each and every one of us. We are all called to go out into the world and spread the message of love and peace.

Jesus further continued, “I am sending you like Lambs among wolves.” ( Luke 10:3) He had already foreseen the nature of the world and how it would welcome those who preached the good news. There were many who were going to receive the Word, sow and reap the harvest but there would also be people who were going to attack and distort the Word; they were going to tear and pull down those sharing the Word. This should however not dissuade or deter us from the path which we have chosen to tread for the glory of God because the mission of God is to save as many souls.

Today, we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Trinity; One God in three persons. The plea of the Trinity has always been that all should be one just as the Father, Son and Spirit are one. There should be no divisions in the Church and world at large. We all have been created in the Trinitarian concept. We should always be attentive to the voice of the Trinity as Prophet Samuel was, “Speak Lord, your servant is listening.” (1 Samuel 3:9-10)

If we could all stand before the Trinity like the publican with our heads bowed down acknowledging our sins, fully aware that we are not worthy to raise our heads. But yet, the Lord has made us worthy by His blood, He has washed away our sins so that we can raise our heads in joy by the power of His saving grace.
We can look at the Trinity with our faces unbashed so that the Lord’s face shines upon us as He blesses us from his throne in heaven, forgiving all our faults and failures.

St. Augustine has explained the Trinity very beautifully where God represents the Lover; Jesus is the beloved and the Holy Spirit is Love.
May we all strive to fulfill the purpose of the Trinity and work towards an united goal and share a special sense of oneness with each other; not forgetting to serve the Trinity with all that has been given to us. We could aptly say to the Lord; “Have Thine Triune Way.”
