Comfort Others With God's Solutions in Your Life

In the secular world, people set up businesses which result from ideas they get from brainstorming solutions to problems they face or problems they identify in other people’s lives or businesses. These ideas become the foundation on which they set up their businesses; they also become solutions for others who face similar or same problems.

Likewise, as Christians we face challenges, problems and difficulties to which we seek solutions. The lessons we learn from our difficulties, the experiences we gain from our challenges, the increase in our faith, the solutions and the breakthroughs God gives us, and the comfort and peace we receive from Him, can serve as opportunities for others to receive their breakthroughs and comfort, provided we share with them what we’ve been through.

We can be the solutions to the problems our fellow brethren face. We can be all the comfort they need, and we can be the answer to their prayers. How can we do this? 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4 tells us:

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”

We are to comfort those who go through similar problems as ours with the comfort God gives us. Our stories can serve as a bridge over which they can cross the river of their sorrows to the Great Comforter, God. They may not necessarily need us to share with them a powerful sermon, but an experience we’ve been through; a story that identifies with what they’re going through.

What a friend may need from you is your struggle with pornography and how you overcame it. What a widow may need from you is your struggle with the loss of a dear one and how through that, God has strengthened your faith. Why don't you share that story now?
