My daugther is about three years old and interestingly i see my wife more in her and i love that part.My daughter's name is olivia,while asked my name:she says daddy ibhawoh,as ibhawoh is my surname,my name is edward ibhawoh.The truth is daddy is my title but to her the truth is daddy is my name.What is Truth?This topic is not about mine daughter but it helps to draw out our perception as it pertains to the word truth.Truth can be defined as quality or state of been true.What is true?For anything to be true it must be in accordance or agreement to fact.Dictionary difinition.To the five senses of touch,smell,taste,sight and hearing fact can mean different things to different folk.
To the man that that lived thirty years ago, you need wires to have a phone.Not so anymore.Does it mean that time can affect facts and consequently affect truth.Not really.Knowledge does.Knowledge comes from continuous application of self to inner convictions.What brings conviction,understanding.The bible says with all thy getting get understanding.{proverb4:7}.Its what we know that makes us understand what is true or the truth.For us to understand anything we must consistently apply ourselves to our convictions until it becomes part of us.A drunkard doesnt get drunk by drinking a bottle but by contineous drinking.Coming to the point of discussion how do we live our every day life by this commandments in John8:32 which reads ....and ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.What is the truth and what shall we be free from?As earlier stated truth is what we apply ourself to.Jesus says to us until we apply ourselves to his laws we may not know the truth about the laws.John8:31.The power of his laws will not be productive in our lives until we apply ourselves to them.What should we be free from?Anything that limits our potential.We should be free from anything that brings shame and reproah to us.Lets take poverty or lack for example.You may believe a lie that giving does not work because you gave once or you gave because you feel good.No.The only way you can be blessed beyond limits is to live life out as a giver.You can give counsel,gifts,money,encouragement and anything you have been graced with.Anything you give out multiplies itself to you.The God life can only be experienced by men and women who delibrately discipline themselves to the word of God.Its not by feeling right to do it but applying yourself to the word of God.A friend of mine recently said to me,you have been blessed by God thats why you did not fall to adultery after seduction.My reply was simple,i have like passion but i discipline myself and flesh to the word of God.I dont do what i feel like i do what the word says.My continuous doing of the word of God have made see the word of God as true in every situation of life.Friends the truth is Jesus have given us all that we need on earth to live a godly life but we must apply ourselves to any part of the scripture that will bring deliverance to us.It may be our health,relationships,finances or studying of the word.The victory is within us,roll up your sleeves its time to work out our salvation with fear and trembling.You can do it.Thats the truth.
