Called To His Own Purpose

From His inspired word
I become His prisoner unashamed
In the Lambs Book of Life, I’m claimed

Those before me served with purpose
Filled with God’s power, a true universal score
His holy calling, not some mystery to explore

Holy power and love for eternity
According to the grace measured for me
His own desire, I am allowed to see

A holy calling He brings
Not the pleasure of my design
In His presence and love, I resign

Death could not hold Him, He has risen
Don’t seek Him as among the dead
With His abiding, I bow my head

Daily time in His word
Making His wisdom and truth my own
Greater His Spirit, His power be shown

Resting daily upon His eternal promise
His knowledge I strive to learn
Jesus alive in me, His purpose my concern
